Hallelujah! I’m back to my old self again! After living in a fog for the past week, it feels absolutely amazing to have my energy back.
Are you sick of me complaining about being sick? Me too. Sorry I’m a baby.
So it’s Friday morning, and that means that my big sister is getting married TOMORROW.
Holy crap. This is a big deal. My sister. Getting married.
The girl I shared a room with up until the age of 16. The girl who let me crawl into her bed after watching a scary movie no matter how old I was. The girl who stole my jeans, wore them, and lied about it. The girl who yelled at football players in high school and told them to “stay away from her little sister”. And the girl who gave me the most adorable niece and nephew an auntie could ever ask for.
Hmm… I think I just inadvertently started my Maid of Honor speech?
Anyway, since my big sister will be walking down the aisle tomorrow afternoon, I thought it was the perfect time to share a few fun pictures from the Bachelorette festivities!
Disclaimer: Many iPhone photos in poor lighting are about to invade the blog.
Food and Drink
I wanted to keep it pretty simple, but I also wanted to have enough variety and options for everyone with food allergies (me and my sister = gluten, my cousin = dairy). We ended up having:
Spinach and Artichoke Dip
Salsa
Buffalo Chicken Dip
Sweet and Sour Meatballs
Barbecue Chicken Enchiladas
Flourless Chocolate Cake
Apple Crisp (I subbed GF all purpose)
The chocolate cake I made was um, “festive.”
Don’t forget some delicious cocktails!
Gifts and Games
After eating lots of delicious food and catching up with everything wedding related, the bride sat down to open some presents!
That one on the bottom right is a statue, not what your dirty minds might think it is…
I’ll forgive you though, because that’s what my sister thought it was! Hilarious.
Photo Dump
One of the bridesmaids was really into these masks…and unfortunately the only picture of the whole gang is us wearing them.
Cast of characters (from left): Jen (my sister from another mister), me, my actual sister Tamarah (the bride!), my cousin Amy, and my sister’s friend Lindsay.
I feel like I should tell you I don’t normally dress like that. In fact, it’s not even my dress. Borrowed it from a roommate!
Anyway, more photodumping! Here’s a before and after of me and my sister (before hair and makeup, after hair and makeup)
We kind of look alike, right?
More pictures of the gang!
So then things got a little out of hand, and this photo sequence happened…
Please note my cousins full body laugh. I love my family!
Before and Afters
Jen saw something on Pinterest (we’re both obsessed) about bridal parties taking “before” and “after” shots at the bachelorette party. Basically, before going out to the bar, and after. Here’s ours!
The bride:
Amy (bridesmaid):
Jen (bridesmaid) and me (MOH):
Not too bad overall, right? We held our own!
Oh yea, so. You know how I was being a baby about being sick this weekend? You’re probably looking at these pictures like whaaaat she don’t look sick!
I’m pretty good at hiding it, but only for so long…
And there you have, how I actually felt.
I can’t believe my sister’s getting married! So exciting!
I’ll talk to you all next week

You’re such a peach!! I love it! Enjoy yourself this weekend and best wishes of love and happiness to your lovely sister!

can you come throw me a party? I mean really, what a pro! looks like a blast1
Hahaha thanks! I love it, party throwing is basically my favorite thing to do!
Awwr congrats to your sis! I’m an only child and always get a little envious when I see sisterly love, even though I can imagine it would be annoying to have someone stealing your clothes and lying about it
Aww..that’s so sweet! A sister relationship is definitely a unique one, that’s for sure! I love my sister but we definitely had our differences in high school! It’s crazy to look back at those days sometimes.
Congrats to your sister!! Looks like you guys had a great time and you looked gorgeous, despite being sick!! Can’t wait to read the wedding recap
Aw, thanks!! It was a great time, my sister is so happy and I couldn’t be happier for her! A wedding recap is in the works, but I’ll probably wait for some better pictures to include!
