Me and Amanda ventured to a local Providence bar for 90′s night on Thursday. We had high hopes, expecting to hear a great mix of Salt N Peppa, classic Britney, Destiny’s Child, and maybe even some Spice Girls.
We were sorely disappointed when the DJ stuck to the usual, tired 90′s hits we hear all the time (think Baby Got Back and Ice Ice Baby). To add insult to injury, they were mixing in today’s hits too. Our high hopes for the night quickly diminished down to nothing.
To help cope with our lackluster night out, we stopped for pizza on the walk home. I hadn’t had pizza in forever and decided one slice would be okay. That one slice of pizza sparked my hunger, and I awoke Friday morning with a pudding cup (scraped clean) by my side. Can’t even be sure what else I ate. Shameful.
Friday was my day off from the gym, so after work I spent some time relaxing with the roommates and watching the new HBO show Girls. I think I’ve found my summer addiction. This show is 100% me and my roommates, it’s absurd. The details are crazy true to my life! They eat string cheese and froyo (diet staples in our apartment). They spend Saturday mornings wrapped in fleece blankets eating cereal and watching trash television. I mean the list goes on and on. Love it.
S’mores Cookies
Transitioning flawlessly into the s’mores cookies I’ve been visually torturing you with. Seriously, how good do they look? They taste even better.
I made these cookies awhile back, and brought them to the office where they were promptly devoured within a half hour. I mean devoured. My coworkers were proposing marriage if I would promise to make these cookies for as long as we both shall live.
I followed this recipe from The Girl Who Ate Everything. The hint of cinnamon in the cookie dough is absolutely perfect with the graham cracker bottom. And the Hershey’s bar just barely melted right on top? I mean are you kidding? Go make these cookies.
I plan to tomorrow.
