I’m back!
And boy has a lot been going on. Including Slope Day Adventures and Andrea adopting a PUPPY. His name is Logan and I love him. But there’s too much to say about those topics so more to come under separate posts!
For now let’s talk a general update on mission weight loss. Monday marked the end of my week off, and I was completely relieved to be back into the swing of things, eating healthy again and heading to the gym! My diet plan started off pretty well. I had some turkey deli meat to finish up, so I didn’t 100% start with my Plateau Attack Plan for lunch. But the rest of my plan went well and I cooked some delicious salmon for dinner!
I made some jasmine rice along with it, and also ate some fresh spinach I still had in the fridge. It was delicious! The yummy glaze on top was an impulse purchase at a winery this weekend (oh yes, wine was tasted, fun was had, more details to come later!)
The sweet and spicy glaze was the perfect complement to the broiled salmon.
Before dinner, I went to the gym for the first time in a whole week! I was honestly allsmiles and excited to be blasting pump up music and running on the treadmill.
Until I wasn’t. Because I could barely breathe and was sweating like a man. Who knew one week of rest could transform a workout I normally dominated into a crazy challenging just5moreminutes just4moreminutes hell? Holy crap.
I followed my treadmill workout with a 20 minute interval workout programmed through the arc trainer at my gym. Then I went home and knocked out Jillian Michael’s Ripped in 30. I think I’m gonna like this program.
Something a little different about Ripped in 30 versus the 30 Day Shred is that Jillian actually recommends one rest day per week with Ripped in 30. So um, I sort of took that rest day already. Tuesday was bad news bears.
I had to do some stormwater sampling field work, which typically involves a lot of rain dancing and trying to predict the weather. I started the day with a healthy breakfast and healthy snacks, but when we really needed to kill some time, my coworker and I ended up grabbing lunch at Chile’s. I ordered a house salad and a bowl of the southwest chicken soup. I didn’t even eat half the soup, and I snacked on a few chips and salsa. That was enough to make me completely sick and lethargic the rest of the day. What the hell Chile’s? What. the. hell.
So I came home Tuesday night, passed out on the couch for two hours, then woke up and ate Special K like it was my job. I figured I couldn’t accurately estimate how bad the Chile’s lunch was, so why bother with the rest of the day?
Why do I always do this?
Anyway, I killed the Special K and now there is no longer any cereal in my house at all. Whatsoever. Which is honestly a huge relief because I could not stop eating it. Now I just need to stop buying it.
Oh well, tomorrow is a new day!
