Last night I joined my roommate Andrea at her company sponsored happy hour. They were celebrating someone’s 10 year anniversary. Showing up un-invited and un-announced to a party where I only know 1 or 2 people is not something I ever do. But I’m trying to change my life, take more risks, and put myself out there. So I said no to the safe choice (stay home and watch HGTV), and said yes to a couple warm-up captain and diet cokes before heading out the door to Bar Louie.
Somewhat surprisingly, I had a great time. Her co-workers were all fun, very friendly and we had a blast. I have to admit it was nice to be around some fellow Ivy League grads (most went to either Brown or Harvard). I didn’t feel out of place like I normally do whenever someone asks where I went to school.
We left with an invite to a party at one of her co-worker’s apartments. I’m hoping the party isn’t the same weekend as Slope Day. God I can’t wait till Slope Day!
After the bar, I came home and ate like, 4 of these muffins.
They’re a healthified version of the “real” chocolate chunk muffins, so 4 isn’t quite as bad as it sounds. Still pretty bad though. I wanted to grab a photo of the ones I made, but unfortunately the half batch was devoured within two days. Oops.
Probably not helping the whole weight loss goal for the Fourth of July. I started back in January with an overall goal to lose 25 pounds. So far, I’ve lost about 13, so I’m happy with my progress. But I fear the dreaded plateau that happens to most people after a few months of diet and exercise. I need to weigh myself this weekend so we’ll see! Fingers crossed.
